A photo straight from the camera or from the gallery is enough. Coinchi reads the store, date, branch address, items and prices – and checks whether everything matches the receipt total.

What is recognized
Store and branch, date, every item with quantity, unit price and line price, and the printed receipt total. Items get a category and an icon, product names on foreign-language receipts are translated into your language – the original name stays visible. Receipts photographed at an angle or sideways are straightened.
Total check instead of flying blind
Text recognition is never perfect. That is why Coinchi compares the sum of the recognized items with the printed receipt total and shows deviations right away. You can correct any item with a tap, and you can view and zoom into the receipt photo at any time. Unusual prices are flagged.
Your receipt helps everyone
The recognized prices feed the community prices – anonymized, with no link to you. So every scan makes the price comparison for the shopping list more accurate. For you, a spending log comes along on the side: your receipts with monthly overview and price history per product. Detailed statistics by product, store and VAT belong to Coinchi Premium, which is currently in preparation.
Good to know
- For text recognition, the photo is sent to an AI service provider (see Privacy).
- Receipt photos are deleted automatically after 30 days.
- Cover sensitive details such as card numbers before taking the photo.
Frequently asked questions
Which supermarkets does Coinchi recognize?
Receipts from common chains such as Lidl, Aldi, Rewe or Edeka and many other stores, also from Italy and Austria. Store names are standardized automatically.
What happens if something is recognized wrongly?
The total check shows deviations, and you correct any item with a tap.
How long are receipt photos stored?
30 days, after which they are deleted automatically. The extracted data stays until your account is deleted.
Does the receipt scan cost anything?
No, the receipt scan is free.
