Scan a barcode, see ingredients and allergens.
Point the camera at the barcode: Coinchi shows ingredients, allergens, traces, Nutri-Score and whether a product is vegan or vegetarian – and warns you about what your household has to watch out for.
Free in your browser. Android and iOS apps are in beta testing, coming soon to the stores.

Allergen check for the whole household
Set once which allergens you watch out for – the selection applies to everyone in the household. When you scan, your allergens appear prominently at the top, all declared ones below. Coinchi also warns about traces and honestly says when there is no allergen data for a product, instead of guessing “safe”.
Where the product data comes from
Coinchi queries public product databases – mainly Open Food Facts and related projects as well as UPCitemdb. No data about you is transmitted in the process. Coinchi automatically retries barcodes without a match later, so the catalog grows even without your help.
Unknown product? Add it for everyone
If no database finds the product, you simply photograph the ingredient list. Coinchi reads name, ingredients and allergens and stores them – with no link to your account – in the shared catalog. From then on, everyone who scans the same barcode sees the data. The photo itself stays internal and is only used for review.
More from every scan
The scan history shows earlier results for comparison, and for products you have already bought, you see the last purchase. You can watch favorites and get a notification when their price changes.
Frequently asked questions
Does the allergen check replace the information on the packaging?
No. The data comes from public databases and community contributions and may be incomplete. The information on the packaging is always what counts.
What is Open Food Facts?
An open, community-maintained food database. Coinchi uses it as a source for ingredients, allergens and Nutri-Score.
What does Coinchi store when I add a product?
Barcode, product name, recognized ingredients and allergens, and the photo – with no link to your account. Name, ingredients and allergens are then visible to everyone.
Does the barcode scan cost anything?
No, the barcode scan is free.
