Terms of use

§ 1 Services

Coinchi allows you to capture receipts, compare prices and keep shopping lists. Use is free of charge.

§ 2 Account and obligations

Use is permitted from the age of 16. You provide truthful data and keep your access credentials secret. You upload only receipts to which you hold rights of use and which do not disclose third-party data.

§ 3 Price information

Prices and analyses come from user receipts and automatic text recognition. They may be incorrect or outdated and are non-binding.

§ 4 Households, invitations and sharing

You can create a household and invite other registered persons or share shopping lists with them. An invitation takes effect only when the invited person accepts it; until then it can be declined. Anyone who passes on a household code enables the recipient to join.

Members of a household see the receipts, shopping lists and the list of members stored there. Rights depend on the role: administrators manage the household and its members, members edit lists and entries and can invite, viewers have read-only access.

Anyone who invites others or shares content is responsible for including only persons who agree to this and for sharing only content that they are allowed to share. Members can leave a household at any time; administrators can remove members. Upon leaving or removal, access to the content of the household ends.

§ 5 Text recognition by service providers

Photos of receipts and recipes are transmitted to an AI service provider for automatic text recognition (details in the privacy policy). We give no warranty for the accuracy and completeness of the recognised data; please check the result.

Please check each receipt for sensitive information (e.g. card numbers, names, customer numbers) before scanning and cover it. Do not use text recognition for documents containing health data or other particularly sensitive data.

Contributions to the product catalogue are voluntary. With the ingredients photo for an unknown barcode, you grant us a non-exclusive, free-of-charge right, unlimited in time and territory, to the photo and the information to store them for the product catalogue, to edit them, to make them available to other users in the app and to improve the app with them; the photo is not shown to other users. You upload only your own photos of product packaging that do not show people or third-party data. Contributions are user-supplied information and no guarantee: always check ingredients and allergens on the packaging.

We may continue to use aggregated values formed from receipt items that are not related to a person (such as price ranges and average prices) even after your account has been deleted.

Coins are a voluntary thank-you for contributions to the community. They have no monetary value, are not transferable or payable, and we may change rules and limits. In case of misuse we may cancel them.

§ 6 Contact

§ 7 Liability

We are liable without limitation in cases of intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body and health, and under the Product Liability Act (Produkthaftungsgesetz). In cases of slight negligence we are liable only for breach of essential contractual obligations and limited to the foreseeable damage typical for this type of contract.

§ 8 Termination

You can delete your account in the app at any time. We may block or delete the account in the event of serious violations.

§ 9 Final provisions

German law applies; mandatory consumer protection provisions of your country of residence remain unaffected.
